Planting your Aviaries

Oviously, it is important when planning or stocking your aviary to ensure that the plants we are placing in the flights or feeding to our birds are safe for the birds. There are numerous theories on the proper plants to use for specific species of birds. As a general rule, fruit wood is considered safe for all birds, with some exceptions detailed below.

All of our birds are going to be exposed to germs at some time or another. While good hygiene can reduce this, the bird's natural defence mechanisms are critical to maintaining good health. So the immune system is probably the most important weapon we have against viral, bacterial and fungal infections. Sadly it is probably the least recognised option in aviculture.
